That is a good question.  What type of data connections are you wanting to make? You can make connections in code which are outside of InfoPath. I believe InfoPath sets up all of the DataConnections in the beginning, so I am doubtful they can even be modified while the form is running.  Typically you would make several and then just ...

You need to do a search here on the use of a CAML and you can find many posts. Here is also the blog post that started it all. http://www.infopathdev.com/blogs/matt/archive/2006/02/02/Add-SharePoint-List-Items-with-InfoPath.aspx I have not done it with code but it should not be too hard to adapt. It is really just manufacturing your CAML.

Give us a bit more details on what you are trying to accomplish. You want to no longer open new forms and to close itself immediately if it is past a certain age?  The xsn would only work with new forms, do you want existing forms (xml files) to be affected? Is this limitation with both Infopath 2003 and 2007?  Or is the limitation on SharePoint?  I keep getting the error "Updating Content Type Failed".  Looking at the other posts, there's no clear answer.  I am wondering if the problem is truly a column limit.  Thanks, Dave
