I wonder about removing the form from his cache so he gets a new version of the template?

Well -- looks like Office 365 uses the same syntax, pretty much - it uses:
-1;#emailaddress
You can get the email address from the AccountID - it has a result that looks like this in O365:
i:0#.f|membership|email@email.com
So you could substring everything after membership| to get the email address.
EDITED:
So, I just was using this post as ...

In your rule - for the value, click the fx button and in the formula editor, check the box that allows you to edit the XPath - and then paste the full XPath in a reply... we might be able to see if there is an issue with the filter.

There is another thread here on sort of the same issue.
We don't have any built in functionality for this. It seems to me it would be possible to use an owssvr.dll connection to get the ID for the item in the document library, then use SubmitToSharePointList to basically submit the metadata (although you'd need to manually create the ...

See attached - save the file locally, then right click the saved file and select Design to open in design mode.
I used an expression box for this in my sample instead of a field - I'd think given the structure you describe, the XPath would be:
count(../../preceding-sibling::my:RepeatingSection/my:OptionalSection) + 1

Okay, I was wrong, wrong, wrong.
The AccountId has info you'll need, however. You'll need to create another field, outside of the person picker group and set a default value on it:
concat("-1;#", AccountId)
Then map that field instead. We would generally submit the user's ID number (which I'd hoped was in the ...

Well, actually - the field is repeating. You've just bound it to a non-repeating control. That doesn't change the fact that in the schema it is in a repeating group, a sibling of the amount node. Every list item you create with this form will have a separate "Total received" field.
-
I'll check this out later today and get back to you - are you using SharePoint & IP 2010?
-
So, if there are multiple Amount fields - there will also be multiple Total Recieved fields? Do you need to be comparing the total of both?

The controls on your form are bound to fields in your data source. If your "Staff ID Number" text box had been a dropdown instead, I wouldn't be able to tell from the screenshot if the values were the same. They sure look the same, don't they?
You could add an expression box (calcuated value) in the repeating section with the ...
