The failure is coming from: root.SelectSingleNode("my:myFields/my:eName", NamespaceManager).Value.ToString()
The failure is that the node is invalid. Are you sure that it is "eName" and not just "Name"?
Otherwise, I suggest looking at an XML dump of the form causing the issue to see if the field is actually ...

Welcome to the forum.
There may be some code here but best practice is to use a web service rather than a stored procedure.
If you would like to see some examples of database interaction via web services send me an email and I could show you.

There are multiple ways to architect this kind of "template" functionality where you want to create a new document but use a stock version or a previous version as the template.
You can deffinitly put defaults into a blank form but I am not sure that would do what you wanted.
Often using a backend data source works the best since you ...

I'm almost embarrassed to ask this question, but if you can't lay it out on the table in here where else can you?
Here's
what I'm trying to do. From what I understand, InfoPath uses (and
I'm making this over simplistic) two files each time I use the
form. One is the template and the other is the data. ...

You may have already found a solution for this, but in case you haven't...
I
was having problems trying to get conditional formating for other

use the InfoPath interface the coding will only refer to ...

Hey Tim.
Why don't you attach you xsn to a post and then I can take a look at it.
I am guessing your tomorrow filed should be a date format but I can see if i can get it working.

The key is web services.
The basic database connectivity in InfoPath has limitations as you have encountered.
InfoPath was designed to use web services and they give you all of the functionality.
You can both query and submit to multiple tables.
Send me an email and I could show you some examples.

[ BUMP]
I was wondering if any of you [much smarter than me] folks could take a look at my original post? I would be forever grateful if someone could help me out with this! I don't imagine it's too complicated, but I'm just not familiar enough with the programming to figure this out myself.
Thanks again to anyone that takes a look ...
