The only real way to ensure uniqueness and have the number generated sequentially is to use a database to generate this number. If you want to send me an email I could walk you through how to set this up.

I would like to use an secondairie datasource of type XML to use for look up in fields of my main datasource. is this posible? I want to do this so my infopath form also has ofline the options abvailable. I use InfoPath 2007.    ***  

srikrushna,   Yup, making the form full trust did the trick. It worked! But if you find any other way of making it work without making it full trust that would be better.  Coz, making the form full trust means, extra work such as deploying certificates on different PCs.  But for now, because Im having it deployed on ...
