• Re: rules on the built-in submit button

As far as I know, you can't do this without customizing SharePoint roles. There is no out-of-box role that supports adding but not reading/deleting. SharePoint lacks the fine-grained permissions. Our Qdabra DBXL Web Services Suite supports this scenario and integrates with SharePoint so that you don't have to worry about changing the ...

  • Re: SharePoint List and InfoPath 2003 Vs InfoPath 2007

Hi Parriwg, No idea. Should be the same. Please check the security level for your form and make sure they are both Domain Trust (Tools -> Form Options -> Security). Make sure that the Organization data connection is in the same domain. You can go to Tools -> Data Connections and select the Organization data object and view the URL and ...

  • Re: Screen View and Print View?

Hi Sam and welcome to the forum! Absolutely, this is one of the most commonly used features of InfoPath. In the InfoPath Designer, go to Design Tasks and Views. You can create a new view there by clicking Add a New View... You'll want to add rules to switch the views. You can do this on load (Tools -> Form Options -> Open and Save -> ...

  • re: Automatically Populate Fields from a Drop-Down Selection

Matt and all, Thanks very much for the article on Auto populating fields from a drop-down selection. I thought I actually had this figured out on my own, but the best I could ever do was to return the first instance of the fill field from the XML secondary data source. In my case, I want to populate a test box with a phone number ...

  • Re: Data Connection to Oracle

Actually, I'm not quite sure how to put the web services together in order to connect. I know that MOSS has several web services available, but I don't know which one to use or if any will work. I'm thinking that a totally different web service has to be coded--just don't know. stern

  • Re: View design patterns?

Clay, Thank you so much for your reply. Those guidelines you presented really makes sense to me. There are a lot of other aspects of Infopath for which I'm looking for best practices and/or design patterns. Apart from the fact that I could not find a specific forum for that on this site (feature request for the site I guess? :-) ), ...
