Hi,
Use setproperty(string name, object value) method. First get the secondary dom then apply the method on this dom.
ex: dom.setProperty("SelectionNamespaces", "here mention the name space with which you want to access" )

Can you save the ASP data as XML?
Then you can create an InfoPath form which will consume the XML into its own schema. that is probably the best way to interface the two.

Web Services would allow you to dynamically query mutiple tables as you describe. Check out the Web Service fgrom Qdabra.
For the first item you may want to use a repeating table to create the tree view. Use conditional formatting to hide and reveal based on button selections.

Hey Phillippe.
The taskpane can give you an actual tree view and information can be passed back to the form but I am not a progrmamer or familiar with their creation.
I have used repeating tables to replicate a tree view fairly well.

Welcome.
Probably the best way is to have a central store, which you could flag a particular record for it to be identified by subsequent forms.

Save submits with the same name. (I would save the filename in a field in your form)
Update changes the name field and then submits.
Close ...

IndoPath supports many data connections with a Sharepoint / WSS item.
In MOSS they have a library for storing global connections so that they can be shared between forms, but that is all it does for you. From InfoPath's perspective there is very little difference between WSS and MOSS with the exception of browser ...

I do not think you could probably do it in a validation on the field it self with a pattern. I would trigger conditional rules for each on the field or on another button.
Each would be a contains function and check for each special character or maybe one with an OR statement.
That I think is how you would have to do this.
Not super elequent but ...
