Hi,
I have Infopath 2007 form that on opening checks the users network login with a field from a SQL database. When equal the user can complete and submit the form. So far so good.
When not equal the user gets a messagebox saying he has no permission. I have defined this as a rule on one of the form field. I would like the form to close ...

I'm still getting problems with createNode. When I try it without a namespaceURI it tells me the prefix "my" is not defined, but I have read the MS article and checked the template and xmlns:my is defined in there.
Element '{http://schemas.microsoft.com/office/infopath/2003/myXSD/2007-11-08T16:31:56}UID' is unexpected ...

Thanks Hilary. Unfortunately, our AUP restrictions stop me getting on to that link but I'll go hunting for the createNode method. Thanks again.

Sadly, I'm barely fluent in VBscript. I'd guess by the error that you need to set the namespace property for the new node? I'm not sure. I found this post when I went searching for examples of the createElement method, but his main suggestion seemed to be to use the createNode method instead.
Sorry, wish I could be of more help....

There is no outlook on the PDA, just standard Windows Mobile 5 or 6. We see the same behavior on Blackberry's and the Goodlink Service as well. So it's not just Active Sync with messaging.

I would like for the users to be able to start entering a number manually and have the drop-down control walk thru the list as the user types. Currently it only seems to register the first digit, and thus only jumping to the next number in the list, not ...

Does it matter if all of the fields are completed?
Does InfoPath only submit a partial record or leave some blank? I would try some testing with that.

This is interesting.
There must be a change between infoPath 2003 and infoPath 2007.
I know some of the Outlook integration changed, i assume that is how the mobile users are viewing the forms within Outlook?
You may want to contact Microsoft on this, I guess I did not realize you could even view forms on a Windows mobile via Outlook.

Hi Catherine.
Unfortunately it is not possible to switch views twice in one sequence.
However I have been able to do what you describe. User clicks submit, 1 action switches view, second action submits email with the view as the body.
Are you sure you are switching views then submiting to email?
I have done this with browser forms as well as ...

This can be done, and I think it is preferrable.
I have seen the hyperlink put into the subject line or Intro by concatenating the library with the file name of the form.
If all you want is the template then that is static and should be very easy.
Also with IP2007 you can select not to attach the form which automatically puts a link ...
