Forms would have to be republished but it sounds like you want an automated method of doing this.
I think Qdabra has a migration tool for moving forms from site to site in bulk.

Yes this is not easy.
InfoPath was designed to be an electronic form and has limited print support.
You can manually mess with the header and footer by extracting the form files and editing the manifest directly.
There may be a way to embed a graphic that way.

I think what you are looking for is a CAML query.
You can actually update or insert items into SharePoint using a CAML. Do a search here on CAML and you can find some instructions.
Otherwise you would need to use a Business Data Catalog in Sharepoint to try and link to your database data.
Another option, is if you have ...

Unless you use a web service, you cannot filter or "query" a secondary data connection.
You would have to load the data and then use a filter to only display the data that matched the filter or exclude what you did not want.

When submitting a form Infopath does not change the view and does not send the signature for approval view to the end user. Where the signature suppose to appears, it is blank. No need to apologies. You have been very helpful.
Just to clarify - all I need to do is put the modified code from your example in the onAfterChange event? No extra files are needed to somehow be included in the form?

I was able to solve this on my own, although its not exacltly the way I wanted to solve this problem, it works. I would have perferred to get Excel Services and InfoPath playing nicely, but due to a time contraint I had to move forward with a different method.
I ended up using a SharePoint Calculation field to do the following calc:

Sorry, Chris! I should have been more precise. No custom control needed, just add the normal InfoPath file attachment control. After you read the contents off, decode into a new file and save someplace, you can set the text value back to blank so that you aren't storing that bulky file. You could even use some conditional formatting to decide ...

Hi Hilary
Thanks for the reply. I think your pointing me in the right direction and while I haven't gotten my hands dirty yet, I should be able to atleast decode the name and use it to open a file.
That being said, I am still unclear how to apply all this. How does this code run in the form? Do you put the default attachment control on the ...
