I have done this but it has been a long time.
I believe you just need to change the CAML to Update rather than insert.
There should be some examples of doing an update rather than an insert,
-
You can change the format of the fields in SharePoint to text.
Or you can use the num function or a substring to remove the extra decimals in InfoPath.
You can also format text fields as to how many decimal places to show, etc.
-
There is only one template per library even with History,
-
This is by design with SharePoint the forms in the library use the template for the library and there are not multiple kept.
You would need to create a new form library if you wanted to preserve the template or more typical is to add some checking to the open rules of the template to make old forms read-only or whatever you need.
-
I have not noticed a difference in using UDC's. It may be an environmental issue with the your server or network.
Are the UDC's referencing web services on the SharePoint server or across the domain?
-
You would need to build your own list.
Create a list of your items and add a select flag or something.
Then you could have a repeating table and check boxes bound to the selectflag field.
-
Good work.
Foir others benefit:
You should be able to use a rule with a condition based on the savings value that would set the field from a default no to yes if it is true.
Also then use conditional formatting on a field or section to hide it if it is no.
-
The best would probably to make another copy of your email data connection without a cc and then use logic in your submit to use that instead if field60 = logical 3.
-
I have not worked with cookies but are they accessible from a file path? Will they always have the same name?
If so then your form could load the XML file.
Just setup a data connection in your form to recieve from XML and navigate to the file.

Hey Micky.
Create a submit data connection to Sharepoint. Then specify the standardized naming format and use the submit button or create one.
Then turn off allowing Save and Save As in the form options.
It is the way it was desinged to work and is much better.
Have fun.
