Problem with different versions of same form template

    Hi all,

Let me summarize situation. There is a form library on MOSS 2007 and there are lots of filled forms in that library. I've changed the corresponding form template, added some fields. I didn't remove, rename or move any field. After that I've published new form template with form versioning option 'Do nothing'. The existing forms in the form library opened but there was a problem. While debugging the form code, I saw that existing forms were running with new template's form code. Isn't that a problem? Because I choose versioning option 'Do nothing', I expect that it should do nothing actually.

I also checked the feature directory of form template. There are directories for all versions of the form template. I checked the dlls and xsns in the folders of old form template, all of that files belong to the old version as expected. But the existing forms in the form library runs the new dll.

Do you have any suggestions? I need to upload new form template but existing forms should use old version of the form template.

    Thanks a lot...

This is by design with SharePoint the forms in the library use the template for the library and there are not multiple kept.

You would need to create a new form library if you wanted to preserve the template or more typical is to add some checking to the open rules of the template to make old forms read-only or whatever you need.

There is only one template per library even with History,
