ok, i was wrong. it's not the namespace BUT something strange happens after saving the form, exiting designer and opening the form again. before the form is closed everything looks fine, after reopening - no formatting. xml of the form looks exactly the same in both cases.
is it a bug?

Use the following code in 'Save' button Onclick event. It overrides validations on 'Save' button.

One of the option can be by adding an extra column and by copy/pasting from the spreadsheet to SharePoint:
This can be done by going to Actions-->Edit in Datasheet
Right clicking on the column and add column and paste the data from spreadsheet.

Thanks, if i have a virtual pc on my local desktop and create an infopath form, would ihave to copy the sxn file over to the server? would i also need the dll file? If so where would i find that?

Its a good idea,
But suppose if user try to right click and copy the field value, he should not be able to do that,
for that purpose copy and paste should be disabled ? how we can do this in infopath textbox
Again password can get easily hacked as each character represents one symbol

In your case not required to set the namespace property. First you can try once are getting the node or not?
