Hi JRicoRod,
I think Greg did an example of this back in 2005 - check out Downloads->Samples (it may use C# though). Here are the techniques I can think of:Code - launch InfoPath form from existing and pass it a pointer back to current. Target form uses pointer to get data. This is Greg's technique in the samples.Input Parameter and ...

Hi Den12,
Thanks for the great post. Does your form use REST or does it pull all of the entries into the form?
REST partial queries can be a bit slow when executing on large data sets.
For the latter approach of filtering in the form, it can lead to lags on load or when the data is queried. Obviously, depends on the amount of data - short ...

One more comment. I think the out-of-box technique may require adding an item to the calendar and this may not scale to your scenario, but it will work until they open the ics via the link. Then, you can create a simple workflow that removes it (or use the qRules delete feature on submit).

Hi Ed,
You should be able to redesign the form's layout in InfoPath Designer to make it look beautiful. The data is separate, so the view modifications won't affect the underlying database connections.
I recommend just replacing the whole view. Put your cursor in it, press ctrl-a to select all and hit the delete key. Then, start adding ...

Hi Bgl1191 and welcome,
First of all, out-of-box list forms cannot submit repeating data. You can create an InfoPath List Form from InfoPath Designer that submits multiple rows to a list. Start InfoPath Designer, choose SharePoint List. Specify the SharePoint site and make sure you enable repeating items on the dialog - don't miss the ...

Hi again,
Sorry for the strike one. I was a bit harried when I whiffed that one.
OK, so with more thought on a Saturday, I think that it should be easy to generate this from fields. The problem is going to be creating a file that is then attached or outputted.
You might be able to use concat to build up the ics file using the fields and static ...

I'm guessing the registry would have information somewhere that would tell you which ones to delete so you could be more surgical. Might be some work.
More importantly, why isn't the cache working?

Hi T and welcome!
I recommend creating an out-of-box workflow with an Impersonation Step that removes the permissions of the XML file when it is added. In other words, give users permissions to write and add to the library but the workflow will remove the edit permissions after the XML is submitted. That may be a way around this issue.
I have ...

For purpose of debugging in preview, set your form's security to full trust - go to File->Form Options->Security and deselect auto and make it Full Trust. Make sure you change it back to Auto->Domain Trust before publishing. The data connections may have to be "Convert"ed into universal data connections via the data ...

Hi Vinuraj,
You are not the only one with this problem. It is unfortunately very common.
We are going to cover this topic in next week's webinar, but for the time being... you can move your existing XMLs out of the library using the Windows Explorer icon in the ShP ribbon. Then, just copy them back in there. The promoted ...
