Thanks for letting me know! :-)
Hope you get your Office issue squared away....

Oh, how annoying, I just tried this on my IP 2007 VM, and had the same results. Try this one - I added another field to use to reset the Work Log field.
-
Can I have some screenshots, please? You can attach under the options tab in a reply - I am thinking you are talking about the form used for mapping for submitting to a SharePoint list via qRules - is that correct? I don't know of any licensing requirements with that particular form, so I would like to see the error message.
-
Here's a sample. Save it locally. Right click and select design to open in design mode. Walk through the email submit data connection to see how I used the formula editor to concatenate the fields together.
-
Here's a screenshot - I'll have a sample for you in another post.
-
That's what I get for testing my regular expression outside of InfoPath.... I'll take a look later today & see if I can come up with something that will work for you.
-
The expression box is bound to the category field. The category field is storing the data. So, the field saves the data, and the expression box just displays it.
The button knows what row it is in. The code you posted in your original post used e.Site to get the value of Purpose. You can add code to your button and use e.Source to get that ...

Oh how weird. And this is in InfoPath Filler? Screenshot of the rules on the Work Log field?
-
That explains it! IP keeps that form as a resource file with the other template files, so you did the right thing to update it. :-)
-
In the sample attached to my post, if I preview it and type in the work log field and tab out, the text gets added to the log field and the work log field is cleared - is the sample form not working that way for you?
