That's because I forgot to attach it! ;)

Oh, interesting! I wonder about using two validation rules - your stricter rule if the subsubstring-before the "@" does not contain an apostrophe, and a different pattern that allows any character if it does. Clunky, but I'm not thinking of another workaround offhand.... I've attached a sample, just right click the linked file ...

Ok - so what you need to do is get the list id for the list items (i.e. the repeating data) back in your repeating data somehow. Then in your CAML, you have to include the ID field in order to update.
This post has a little bit of info on including the ID: https://www.infopathdev.com/forums/p/19259/103343.aspx
I'd probably do ...

Nothing comes to mind - unless there was something wrong with the attachment or there is conditional formatting to prevent it from opening. I'm not familiar with "Chrome HTML Documents" so don't know what else it might be. Is that a common attachment type you have? Do they usually open?

I think I would simplify the rules on the trigger. Set the trigger to 1 on submit, which you are doing. On the trigger field itself, change your rule conditions to check that the Trigger = 1, so the submit rules only fire when the trigger = 1. Remove the last rule you currently have (IncrementalCFAwardeeTrigger) and add a rule that has no ...

If you open the XML in a text editor, you can see the base 64 for the file. I'm not sure if an online base 64 converter will decode that - because InfoPath adds some additional stuff at the beginning of the file. It can be done via code or PowerShell. If you want, you can attach the XML to a reply and I'll decode it for you. :)

I've not worked with list forms much, but have you tried saving the entire list as a template in SharePoint then creating a new list from the template? I am pretty sure that will include the form, and then the form's main data connection will be to the new list.

After you download the form, open in design mode (easiest is to right click the saved XSN file, and select Design). Here's where to find the rules - select the section around the date picker:

Here's a sample with just the initials part. Right click the attached file and save it locally. Right click the saved file and select Design to open in design mode.

I don't know if you need the translate, but this will get you the two initials in first last order:
concat(substring(substring-after(DisplayName, ", "), 1, 1), substring(DisplayName, 1, 1))
I'd probably wrap the translate around the above, so that you only have to have it one time. Then use another concat around ...
