• Re: Want to group and display data in an InfoPath Form

That's an interesting problem, but it makes sense that it would do that. Its one set of data, so applying the filter will apply to the entire set instead just that one instance per row. A simple solution would be to limit the viewing capability to one person at a time, so that the list 2 entries will only filter based on the list 1 ...

  • Re: Convert Excel Data into InfoPath

InfoPath doesn't directly connect to Excel very well. Perhaps you can use the Excel sheet to create a list in SharePoint and then connect to that list using InfoPath. Copying and pasting somewhat works from Excel to a repeating table in InfoPath, but I've seen many bugs using that capability.

  • Re: Want to group and display data in an InfoPath Form

Sounds like you need some nested repeating sections for this. Basically you have a repeating section/table for list 1 with all the users. Then create another repeating section/table inside the first one that will iterate through list 2 with all the entries. This way you'll have all the entries displayed for the current user ...

  • Re: InfoPath 2010 and Secondary Data Connections to Sharepoint 2010

Hi there, You can either pull all the data from both lists into your form and then filter the entries from either list using the Filter feature in InfoPath. Here is a video tutorial that discusses filtering: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SH7xUEcQwwg Or you can use the queryField list data connection to return only the entries that match a ...

  • Re: Person / Group Picker

You'll need to use the double eval trick to get your list of concatenated accountid. Here is a link to a thread that describes how to do it: http://www.infopathdev.com/forums/p/17505/60995.aspx Some of the time you can derive the email address if you know that the email is accountID@company.com. But if you want ...

  • Re: Displaying the Workflow Tasks and Status in infopath form

There are a few ways you can accomplish this. If you are using SharePoint workflows, you can have the workflow update a secondary list which will write the info you need such as date, name, status, etc. Also be sure to include some sort of ID so you can link it back to the original list item. In the form itself, create a data ...

  • Using the UserProfileService in your InfoPath forms on Office 365

Office 365 and the cloud has been all the buzz as of late. You can't go to any tech blog or news site without hearing about it at least once. Well it all sounds great, but sometimes you'll run into some unfortunate limitations that may break your solutions. Once of these cases has to do with the UserProfileService and ...

  • Re: Calculate times

You'll likely need code to calculate the difference between two dates. Alternatively, you can use qRules to do this if you don't want to write code. There is a DateDiff function that does exactly what you want. More info on qRules here: http://www.qdabra.com/en/products/qRules_new.aspx

  • Re: Blank space between multiple-selection boxes w/in a section

Could be because InfoPath is inserting white space to account for the show/hide of controls like your MSLB control. Try putting the controls inside a section control and hiding the section instead. That might do the trick.

  • Re: Conditional Formatting for repeating section troubles

To simplify the logic, I would place the repeating section inside a section and place the logic for the dropdown on the section instead of the repeating one. That's step 1. Next thing I would recommend is to have 3 separate conditions on the repeating control to hide the section, one for each value. If that doesn't ...
