• Re: Change view based on selection in another form

Have you tried setting the view after opening the new form, see below: var objXDoc; //open the project form objXDoc = Application.XDocuments.Open(FullPath); objXDoc.View.SwitchView("Name of View"); //close the original form XDocument.View.Window.Close(true); Or have you tried to set the view by using ...

  • A Better User Role

This is more of a helpful tutorial than a question, Its something I have used to help with the way our forms function within our company. This may or may not work for you, but I wanted share it since it has worked so well for us. Definitions: InfoPath UserRole: the user roles defined within InfoPath UserRole: The actual user role of ...

  • Re: How to avoid infinite loops on setting fields

In the conditions for your rules, check to see if the other one is blank: Ex: In field A, condition: If B is blank, set B. In field B, condition: If A is blank, set A. This will stop your loop from ocurring, since it has no way to occur.

  • Re: Save without all required fields filled

I would use a boolean just because it only true/false, you can't forget what it is. You can use text, but then you have to remember if you put True or true, which are not the same in the text world. I would set the field to false or you could leave it blank, since the Save button and rules on open will set it anyways. The reason for using ...

  • Re: Error message "new version of the form template"

The only way I have found to fix this, is to have the user open a New(blank) form. This works 99% of the time for us.

  • Re: Save without all required fields filled

The way I use to do this takes work on your part, but will accomplish the goal. I create one new field, Savable. I use a boolean. This field does not have to be visible within your form. In each field that has a validation, I add to the validation -> and Savable is not equal to true. (if Savable is True, validation wont require ...

  • Re: Promoted Fields not getting promoted to Sharepoint

Sorry for posting a month after the last, but I do have something to offer. If a user uploads a form, you can get Sharepoint to show the Promoted Fields. (Works on Sharepoint Server 2007, not sure about others) When you are viewing the Form Library, if you change the view to Explorer View, and let each item load where you see its Icon ...

  • Re: Duplicate column issue while publishing infopath form as Administrator approved template?

Are these columns coming from the Form data. If so, the only way to delete the column is to remove it when publishing the form.

  • Re: Current and Position ---- always one (1) ?

By "Current" do you actually mean where the cursor is, or the last row of the repeating table. If you mean the last row of the repeating table, you have to use the 'last()' command in the x-path. Ex: /my:myFields/my:NameOfGroup/my:NameOfRepeatingTable[last()]/my:NameOfField Name Number Item 1 1 Item ...

  • Re: Keeping a running log of who made what changes tio an InfoPath form...

This is possible, but does require some coding to be done. I currently use this same feature on multiple forms for archive purposes, much like what you are looking for. What you are looking for sounds much simpler than what I use, but setting it up is essentially the same. Are you currently using code on your form? If so, which ...
