So are you saying, if I have a date picker I can set that to now( ). Or are you saying based on the section being signed, that date which is now gets sent to the date picker control some how. Please help.

I have no idea what you mean when you say "extra brackets."  To what are you referring?  If you don't want the NaN to appear, you can add conditional formatting to the expression box to hide it when @cust_dob is blank.

Patrick, Thanks for the prompt reply. In this case, the web service takes only the dataset as a parameter, and the dataset being submitted is the one queried from the web service. The dataset consists of just the BusinessEntityID integer field and three varchar fields, so there's nothing complex going on. Wil

I bet it would, unfortunately there's no way anyone would approve buying it.  I am, however, going to check out the trial for DBXL.  I've never done this before so it'll be great learning experience-especially since I know nothing about XML.
