In the button click handler you have an event object parameter. This is where you want to look. For managed code it is named "e" for script it is named "eventObj". The "Source" property is the specifc row node that the button is on.
So if you want to get the name field value of the row the button was clicked on, you ...

The best way is to not return any blank values in the datasource you use to populate those lists. But if this is not possible, you can use a filter to not show any items that have blank values. Then they will not be available in the drop-down lists.

Do a little research on the XPath function: current()
This will help you accomplish what you want to do. Your XPath above would be something like (not necessarily exactly like):xdXDocument:GetDOM("v1")/dfs:myFields/dfs:dataFields/d:v1/@Value[../@ID = current()/@ID] Hope this helps.

For the IP07 OM, the MSDN site is the first place I'd go... http://www.msdn.com. I don't know of any others at this time.
If you stick with C#, you ...

You are stuck with different object models. You are currently working in the InfoPath 2007 OM (as identified by the fact that you have a "_Clicked" function and not an "_OnClick" function. Yet you are trying to use the InfoPath 2003 OM to write your code. This won't work.
You will either need to change your form to use the ...

You will need to use filters on v1 field to make sure they key correctly to the current row.
i.e. you would place your expression box in the table row, and then add a filter to the expression box such that the v1 key matches the key of the current row.

The key is understanding what is available in the eventObj parameter. From here you can get to eventObj.Source which is the row node in your repeating table. Why? The context of a button in a repeating table row is always the repeat table row.
Once you know that, you can do eventObj.Source.selectSingleNode("my:TextField").text to get ...
