To my knowledge there is no good way to set granular permissions on a library. All the permisisons are on the library itself, not on individual documents and the library features are not controlable.
You can remove the items you mentioned permanently but this would be for everyone.
We use SQL to store the forms and data and then we can ...

This should be doable and I have done this in 2003 forms before. I have saved the path in a field and then used a hyperlink control.
First I would verify your hyperlink text.
Can you paste it into your browser and get the document you are after?
Try creating a hyperlink in a Word Document to test.
Another test is try linking to google or ...

If you submit this data to SQL then you can capture all of this data, with its relations. Then you can do your analysis and reporting on all of the data via a web report like SQL Reporting Services or even connect to it via Excel. Having real-time dashboards of current orders, etc I am sure is important.

Merge is a way to aggregate the data, although troubled as you mention but I believe he wants to "promote" the field which merge does not apply to.

Sorry I have bad news. Sharepoint is built on a flat data structure in order to browse very quickly. It was not intended for relational data. You can create a seperate list but then there is no way to relate the information back to the form.
However, SQL was built for this scenario, and that is the solution. It also ...

Hey Walter.
You can add a field to your data source but not to a view. This field would be then "hidden" from the user's perspective.
The submit options is a way to handle form submits globally but not necessary if you use submit actions.
Probably from a perspective of getting started, once you have your data connections ...

Welcome to the forum.
Probably best practice is to look at storing your form data in a database. InfoPath is not a real good reporting tool, since that is not what it was designed to do.
I have done a similar summary type view but maybe not quite as complex as yours. I have since then replaced it with a web report from the backend data as ...

This is in the Advanced submit options. Or in Form Options could be the Save and Save As is checked on depending on which message they get.

Hi Anthony.
I think both of these scenarios are doable and not super complex.
If you want to send me an email we could discuss your data sources and the required workflow.
