Have you set up a SharePoint Workflow?
Can you go into SharePoint Designer and edit the workflow to change the state?

Hi Warren,
Well, it's probably not relevant, but have you created a UDC connection for your form to use when it's in the browser mode?
Looking at the errors in your log, my guess is that your Web Service failed internally due to the SQL query not being properly formed. My guess would be it has nothing to do with the InfoPath form. ...

Hi MCorban,
SP uses SQL data types. InfoPath uses XML data types. There are known precision issues doing floating point calculations within InfoPath due to limits in the bits used to represent the numbers. My suggestion would be just to use a rule that sets the value of your field using the round() function. Double click on the field. Select Fx ...

Hi Syed,
You just need to update the name to make the form URN based and make sure you send it to the external employees as an XSN in e-mail. Once they open it, it will cache it locally and subsequent opens can be done by just clicking on an XML file.

Hmm... whenever I try to publish a form as a specific content type to a document library to test your method, it doesn't add the document to the "New" menu. It simply uploads the document template into the list of documents in the library. If I click on that template then I get a new instance of it.
Any idea why it is behaving in ...

It seems you prefer to complicate things by using code and VS to make your forms and workflows. You can easily send the form within an email or sends a reference to the form in an automated email by using basic InfoPath settings and/or SharePoint Designer. I would imagine that anything you can do in those two tools can be done in ...

What code or web service do you have in the form that is affecting the form's trust requirements?
-
It does work if you do it right, is very simple, and doesn't require full trust on the form when complete.
