Hello,
I need to provide the user with a way to select a file from his local machine to load some data in the form (it has to be a csv file which I later read and format by code). It's not possible to use OpenFileDialog() in a web form and I can not find (or think of) an alternative anywhere.
I use C# in Visual Studio 2008 with ...

I could never get the date, but managed to format it using a form-level rule.

I managed to get it to format, but had to use form-level rules on open to do so.

Hi,
I have been working on two infopath 2007 forms for use in workflow tasks for the last few days. I just got to the bottom of a problem and tried to preview a form, which I have done a million times before, and I now get
"InfoPath has encountered an error. The operation failed."

I thought I may have a comment on my blog from you about this, but I didn't! =P It works exactly like GetCommonManager and GetUserProfileByName in terms of the parameter it expects. I use this method in addition to the GetUserProfileByName, and I find that it works exactly the same way. It accepts the same parameter - userName() - and returns a subset of the same type of data, but it returns that data for the user's manager, which is cool. Are you passing the correct parameter?

Hi all,
I have set up the getcommonmemberhips method, trying to pull through a list of all groups that a user is a member of. In this particular environment when I preview the form, I am not getting any results returned at all. The form doesn't give me any errors either.
I just finished asking this question... ...

Hi,
I'm calling the 'GetCommonManager' method but when I preview the form I get the following error:
The query cannot be run for the following DataObject: GetCommonManager
InfoPath cannot run the specified query.
The SOAP response indicates that an error occurred on the server:
Server was unable to process request. ---> ...

Thanks for the reply.
I couldn't get your solution to work, but I did find a harder way to do it here:

I have validated by seeing if the signatures data source was blank or not.
