• Re: Strategies for keeping forms confidential

Hi Jef, It is a common request. The ease of using SharePoint does have some drawbacks like this - if you have permission to a document library you can see all the documents and open them if you dig around a bit. Your idea of using workflow to move the form to a new location is valid, I know others have done that before. Although what ...

  • Re: Please Help :) Visual Formatting Issue

Hi, the only way I know of doing this would be to have a special print view or read only view of the form. The users would enter the text as normal in the form and then you have some expression boxes that would concactenate Surgeries, along with the text they entered. See the attached modified sample. You can't choose to ...

  • Re: Modify an existing SharePoint column using Infopath 2007

Hi Carlo, Yes this is possible to do. It does require custom code to do this. Also be sure to think about what happens if someone edits the SharePoint list item created or edited by InfoPath and if you need that updated in the InfoPath form too, in which case you need to handle that in your code. Our qRules product can do this: ...

  • Re: Updating an item in an unrelated list

Hi, Yes, you can do that. The key of course is knowing the ID so you can update the right row in the list and you have figured that out. To update the list though will require code. You can either write your own code to do this or use a tool like our qRules product which has several commands to work with SharePoint lists from ...

  • Re: sending results of expression box to sharepoint list

Hi, You will need to put the data in your expression boxes into actual fields in the form. Expression boxes are not fields in the schema that can be promoted to SharePoint, you need to have them as actual fields in your data structure to promote them to SharePoint. Ted

  • Re: Open Behavior Font Issues

I don't think you can actually control this. The fonts are determined by IE and InfoPath form services is using IE to render the form so it will inherit the users settings. Ted

  • Re: InfoPath 2003 code behind

If the form does not need to be published to SharePoint then you won't use InfoPath form services, that is just for browser forms in SharePoint. Where will you publish the template with code behind if it's not SharePoint? Ted

  • Re: SharePoint 2007, Infopath Submit button creates form name and sends email, not

Hi, You will need to use SharePoint workflow on that document library to send the emails so that the user doesn't need to click on the email dialog box to send it. If you do it through InfoPath they will need to click on the send button, that is just how the email integration works as it sends from the users Outlook client. Configuring ...
