-
hi the link you are using is wrong
you need to point your link to FormServer.aspx to use formservices to open the form.
http://webapplication/your_site/_layouts/FormServer.aspx?XmlLocation=/your_site/your_doc_lib/form_name.xml&DefaultItemOpen=1#
-
create an additional text box,
on first text box put a rule to set the value of second text box to
translate(translate(., " ", "a"), "α", "b")
on first text box write a data validation
if textbox2 doesnotmatch pattern \p{L}+
this should help you
-
taking your example
if fed != fred AND
fred != george
hide the control.
since this condition will fail fred will see the button. If you still have queries feel free to ask. but first give it a try.

As far as i know there is no limit on the number of views you can have on a form, the only thing affected will be your performance. In your case i think the service gets timed out. you will have to change the Data connection time out.
to change
go to your central administration -> Application Management ->
under infopath ...
-
Just replace your OR with AND
-
Micheal,
can you please give it a try. It works fine at my end.
-
to create a secondary data connection
go to tools -> data connections -> add
-> select recieve data -> next
select database -> next
click database -> select your excel file
then in data source structure select columns you want to retrieve (employee name, department)
on the name text box
set a rule to set ...
