Take a look at  the versioning settings in your form library and make sure that "Require documents to be checked out" is not checked.

I am trying to submit a form into Sharepoint, that part works fine however the form is checked out.  I have to then manually check it into the library then run a workflow.    How can this be automated into Infopath?
