Hi Fnork,
How does the old IP2003 form grab username info? Does it use the same GetUserProfileByName method? The IE settings for the intranet site where GetUserProfileByName resides must show local intranet and the InfoPath security should be domain trust. I'm assuming you have no code in your form.

Hi Mack247,
I'm guessing that the service isn't returning the subelements with the sample values you gave it when you configured the data connection wizard. Without a full result set, InfoPath can't infer a proper schema and that may be why you aren't seeing the subelements. Just a guess though, but try modifying the data ...

Hi Csiemantel,
Yes, you can call the InfoPath object model. If you're using InfoPath 2007, you probably already have the Visual Studio plugin. Anyway, the data adaptors can be created and submitted to via code. The other option would be to rewrite your Web service so it takes an XML string instead (see Qdabra's DBXL for an example of ...

We'll need to look at fixing that in v2.2. Qdabra pays for this free ...

Hi ASM,
Your query needs to return multiple values when you configure the data connection so that InfoPath can correctly infer the schema as a repeating section. That should solve your problem. Go into Tools->Data Connections and modify the existing query. Make sure that the sample values results in *multiple return values* and then the ...

Hi Flanker,
It's way more complicated than a plain submit because of the update possibilities. In other words, the submit includes a diff gram telling how to update. Your managed code has no clue how to do that since it isn't keeping track of update changes and that's probably why it fails.
Best practice is to use a Web service ...

In the wizard for the SQL receive data connection, there should be an option for specifying the SQL Select Text. Double click the button and add a rule to query that data connection.
