OK, that worked. The name shows up in the email, but why doesn't it work w/o the calculated field?
Thanks again for your help!

This really depends on your formatting conditions. Any chance you can attach a copy of the form under the Options tab in a reply?

SharePoint workflow is going to be the way to go, I think (or MS Flow if Office 365?) Start the workflow or Flow when the form is submitted and pause until the expiry date.
-
I would add a status field to the main data source (doesn't have to show on the form) and set it to "Submitted" when the form is initially submitted. Then you can leverage that field for hiding or disabling the submit button, blocking submit via a rule condition, prevent the workflow from running via a condition, and so on.

It will in simpler parent child relationships - like when there is a parent table with one or more child tables - but I think the structure here is beyond what it will support.

From the controls pane, select a calculated value control. From the formula editor, select the main data source. Be sure it is showing in the advanced view. Navigate to the display name field for your people picker and select it.

If I click the dropdown for DisplayName in advanced view and select More, it says 'some controls have been hidden because they are not supported by InfoPath Form Services'. I don't see the People/Group field in that dropdown.

Hi Hilary,
Thank you for your help. I see that InfoPath is great to fill out data fields of a table, but when there is more complex relationships it does not allow for cascading updates to the tables, which is a pity.
Thanks,
Jovan

I'd guess the people picker is just not displaying correctly in the email. If you show the advanced view of the schema in the fields task pane in InfoPath, you should be able to add a calculated value for the Display Name in the people picker - I'd do that and see if it shows correctly in the email. If it does, you could add some form ...

I set the field 'Cannot be Blank' but in the email that field is still blank.
