I have not tried this or evaluated it but I work with large enterprise solutions all the time.
If you would like to discuss best practices and architecture for large scale, InfoPath form solutions send me an email.

Hey Bill.
WOW! 25. There could be a limit - it would not surprise me.
Have you evaluated Web Services instead of the basic connectivity? It removes a lot of the limitations so that you can dynamically query and submit to multiple unrelated tables.
With that kind of complexity, I would think it could make your life a lot easier.

Hi there.
I do not believe there is with the database type form you have. On submit it saves all data and then requeries the data again so you have effectively refreshed the data.
With web services you could save the data without these default, hard coded processes.

Are you opening a blank template or an exisitng XML document?
You could try republishing. I think I have seen this a long time ago. The file thinks it is still open and therefore opens in read-only mode. I am asusuming it says that on the top page title (read-only).

It could be done using a web based data source too.
Send me an email and we can set up a demonstration.

If you make the items shareable. Put them in a database table, and then pull them into a new form. You can make your form very modular and have your components updated externally and then have your form consume these or have the option of selecting these ...
