• Re: E-mail form send via Generic Inbox

Hi Lucas, If you're using InfoPath Form Services in SharePoint (ala browser-based forms) you specify a From email address. I'm assuming you are using the rich client. Unfortunately, overriding the From is a security issue (in Microsoft's mind) so they don't allow it via the out-of-box data connections. You could write some ...

• Re: I need some help emailing a current view and/or file attachements

Hi Lindsey, Too bad you don't have a link to InfoPathDev.com on your homepage! :) Seriously, SYMWong does a good job but we get a ton of posts from people befuddled by her web site. I think she should have a forum! And, I've told her so, but she is a hermit in New Zealand and likes to keep a low profile. Glad to see you're in ...

• Re: Help Reg Infopath 2007 Form published as Content type

Hi Niranjan, You could use SharePoint Designer to remove the New button and replace it with a special button that opens a template.xml with default data specific to the Form Library. That might be easiest since it wouldn't require input parameters. Otherwise, I suggest input parameters. Have you used SharePoint Designer to modify the ...

• Re: Update form window afer clicking signature link

It needs to post back to generate the signature for the form since that's where the logic resides. The only other way to do it would be to use something like our Electronic Signature XTP which is not a digital signature, but works fine for 80% of the cases out there. Sounds like you already have built your form with Digital Sigs though. Best ...

• Re: Headers and Footers

Hi Robert, Printing is not an elegant area for InfoPath. In particular, paging - or, breaking the form into pages - is really not handled well. Matt Faus did an interesting blog on this a couple years ago but it requires code and some funky calculations when dealing with repeaters. To limit rich text fields, I would create a Print View that ...

• Re: Using code in a Infopath form

Hi Mikko, This is easy to do using the random number generator in C#. Too bad xpath doesn't support it. I've asked my team to add a Random rule to qRules v2.3 which we hope to release at the end of August. We're in beta test mode now. If you want to beta test qRules 2.3 (with the new rad Rand rule), just let us know. If you send ...

• Re: Putting Form Field Data in Envelope Fields

Hi Bo Nesbit, Why not just use the out-of-box Email data cnnector? Tools->Data Connections->Add->E-mail->... ? That's a lot easier and you don't have to maintain code. But, if you really want code, you can definitely do the same thing. There are lots of posts in this forum and information in the 2003 SDK (see InfoPath ...

• Re: Changing existing row and inserting row fails

Hi Ek38 When you created the data connection, did you specify that the field was primary key? You may want to look at the wizard again. I thought there was a specification required for single table cases. Usually, you'll have the repeating table under another table and that should work fine since it knows it's got a foreign key. This ...
• Re: Help Reg Infopath 2007 Form published as Content type

Hi Niranjan, First check that when you create a new form from 101 or 102 and try File->Save, does it default to the correct library? If so, you can get that value using code in an OnSave event handler. If not, read on... With a content type, if you get the URL for the published template, it will indeed be the same for all form ...
