Upon checking, I was able to verify that Breakfast and Appetizer both use the MenuItemID field. This explains why the value from the first drop down is carried over to the next drop down. Also, when you insert an entry for the first drop down, the second drop down will also have an inserted field, so it's sort ... Here is a short video of a cascading drop-down approach we use, which is quite similar to what you want to have on your form. Basically, there are categories to choose from which filters out the choices, and I've tested this approach on a repeating table and it should work. If not, kindly attach a ... Posted to Newbie Questions (Forum) by donstephen on 11-20-2013 Re: SharePoint 2007 Hello Michelle, SharePoint 2007 is still being used by many, and still works for storing various types of information, so it should not be much of a problem. However, I can't say that InfoPath is the only right way, but definitely InfoPath can send the data over, and allow you to search for these items ... Posted to Newbie Questions (Forum) by donstephen on 11-20-2013 Re: Promoting a calculated field to a SharePoint list Hello Kei, A Calculated value in Infopath is just visual container. A quick workaround is to add a hidden field (will not be seen on the canvas), and this new field should aslo contain the formula which obtains the same value as your calculated field. Once you have this added, you may now promote this new field to you SharePoint ... Posted to Newbie Questions (Forum) by donstephen on 11-19-2013 Re: Preventing previously made choices from drop downs showing up in another section (going to the same data source field) Hi Andrew, I understand that the drop-downs are being populated by the initial selection. Although I'm not yet familiar with your form, an approach I usually perform is I add a rule which clears the drop-down field (set the drop-down value to blank) on the condition that this action only runs if the drop-down is not blank. ... Posted to Newbie Questions (Forum) by donstephen on 11-19-2013 Re: Autopopulate email subject line Thank you for the additional information. I'm now seeing the cause of the problem. What's happening here is that you are using the TTU ID as part of the File Name. Any changes made to that field will not allow you to overwrite a file because you are changing the File Name. To simply put it, you cannot overwrite a file which does not ... Posted to Newbie Questions (Forum) by donstephen on 09-29-2013 Re: Autopopulate email subject line Hello remigiuszmarian, I was able to check your form and perform some tests on a SharePoint Library and it was able to overwrite the existing form template. My questions at the moment are:How unique is the TTU ID data? Will you have certain forms which will have the same TTU ID content?Did you change the TTU ID when you re-submitted the form?Have ... Posted to Newbie Questions (Forum) by donstephen on 09-24-2013 Re: Autopopulate email subject line I see. If that's the case then I would suggest promoting the TTU ID field as a column for the Form Name (Go to File > Advanced Form Options > Property Promotion, then select the field). Then, instead of having the TTU ID field populating the Save As field, proceed to Form Load (located under the Data tab) and create an Action ... Posted to Newbie Questions (Forum) by donstephen on 09-22-2013 Re: Custom approval WF based off person/group picker Hi brunettej, I recommend promoting the AccountId field from the person/group picker, and then select that field on your workflow instead of the DisplayName. Please give it a try, and let me know how it works out. Posted to SharePoint Integration (Forum) by donstephen on 09-19-2013 Re: Autopopulate email subject line Yes, the SaveAs field will suffice, as long as this field does not create another file name if there is already a file name. You could set that by adding a condition rule which only generates a file name if SaveAs is blank. At the SharePoint Library submit data connection, click the fx button and insert the SaveAs field. Make sure to tick the ... Posted to Newbie Questions (Forum) by donstephen on 09-19-2013 Page 58 of 62 (616 items) « First ... < Previous 56 57 58 59 60 Next > ...
