I suspect that this is a namespace issue. I've never seen a user-defined field have the 'dfs' namespace. You might want to check out the following tutorial and rework your XPath.

Why don't you just extract this functionality out of the InfoPath form and put it into an outside program? What your program could do would be to scan the XML of the InfoPath form, determine whether or not an e-mail needs to be sent, and perform the appropriate actions.
I envision this being a simple command line program that could be written ...

Hey Travis,
It sounds like you are starting your weekend off right, haha! I think what you are looking for is an ''Expression Box'' - this should to the trick.
Cheers!

Hey ek38,
I just tried this and the Form Library that I connected to returned the filename in the ''@Title'' field. I pasted this at the end of the URL in IE and was prompted to download and save/open the form.
Does Title not contain the name of the XML file for you?

The example Agni gave was written in C#, but it seems you are using JScript. I don't know the exact conversion, but you should be able to do it without much trouble.
var taskPane = XDocument.View.Window.TaskPanes[0];

It is my understanding that you do not have to trigger data validation that is built into the XML schema/ XSL. I think what you are trying to do is check to see if any of the validations have been broken before you try to submit to SharePoint so that the error message will not popup.
To do this, try this code (I haven't done JScript in a while, ...

Hi rmillman and welcome to the forum!
These XPath can get kind of tricky sometimes. You will want to add a filter on the Equipment drop-down and specify that it matches both the Vendor and VoiceData values. You should be able to do all of this from the designer, but the final result should be something like this:
/SharePointList/Equipment[Vendor ...

To set the value of the roomUniqueID in the wall group, use a default value formula like this:
../../my:uniqueID
No need for current(). Also, another idea on generating unique IDs is to use a GUID for each one. You can use up to a quintillion before getting to a 50% chance of a collision.

This sounds like a library issue. Do you have all the appropriate import statements at the top of the code? If so, do you have the same version of .NET that this form was developed with?

No, you can't do this directly but you should be able to accomplish this with either rules or a default value formula.
For default value formula: double-click on the node that is not bound to the control on the view and then click on the function button for the default value. Click Select a field or group button, select the other node, and ...
