  • Re: Data Connection issues

Are the views similar? Any chance at all that the view that is being opened is the one with the submit button that uses the data connection for submitting to "Jim"? Maybe while you troubleshoot, change the text on your buttons to specify which submit connection is being used in the rules, or pop up a message prior to submitting with that ...

  • Re: Loading partital, large list based on catagory.

Hi: What version of InfoPath and SharePoint are you using? I think with 2010, SharePoint list connections have query fields... that would allow you to populate a query field before running the query. Is it the loading of the data or the displaying of the data on the form that is causing your slow load time? You could try opening the form to a ...

  • Loading partital, large list based on catagory.

I have a large list growing beyond 300 records. This is making the form load time incredibly long if not prohibitive. I have the form loading the list automatically. My question is centered around loading only part of the list via a button. I remove the automatically load list feature by unchecking the box. If I setup rules based on category ...

  • Re: Infopath 2003 Stored Procedures in Visual Basic .NET

Hi: Yes, I'm saying to create a database connection and then use code to modify the command the connection uses -- this prevents having to make your form full trust, because you are using an IP data connection. In general, I agree with you that it would be best practice to use Windows Authentication when you create the data connection. ...

  • Re: Writing mulitple dates to SharePoint

thanks for your response!  I think it's refreshing... each time i select an item, i have to wait for the system to do something.  the items i select stay selected, and the selection list remains the same.    i have another field with a rule that requeries the data for the selection list above; that lookup takes ...

  • Data Connection issues

Hi all,  I have an infopath form that I created with 6 views.  I have it set up so that differnet people see different views when a user submits the form.  For some reason I cannot get the data connections to work properly.  I have the data connections and user roles set up the correct person.  For view one I have a ...

  • Re: Insert node within nested repeating node

Hi Jimmy, thank you for quick response, you provide excellent help in this forum. I hadn't noticed I was using qrules 2.2 in that form. so I just injected 2.3 :-) (I love it) concat('Insert /parent=/my:UserDataChangeRequest/my:people/my:person[my:UserName="', current()/my:UserName, ...

  • Re: Some users experiencing a 'glitch' with infopath forms

Ok - i've just realised that this 'blue highlighting' is appearing on my laptop. So i have both my pc and laptop displaying the same file at the same time - the pc is fine whilst the laptop has the shading. Even weirder; I took a print screen and the highlighting appears on the laptop but not on the pc - this is a print screen!! I ...

  • Re: Insert node within nested repeating node

The problem with your first approach is that the current() function is only available within InfoPath designer features (rules, condt'l formatting, etc.) and not in code-based features.  To get around this, you can use a concat() statement to fold the value you want into the command: concat('Insert ...

  • Re: dynamically change the filelocation for a xml file secondary data connection

Yes, you can copy other fields. Jo-Anne Alfafara wrote a blog post recently that shows you to copy using the Insert command. CopyTable is less work for tables when the schema is the same. Merge should support ability to add optional XML fragments but I can't remember actually doing that.  Please let us know if you need more ...
