Hi,
You can do this only with code as far as I know. We have a tool called qRules that does this already (using code, but you don't need to know the code - you just use the rules in InfoPath to call the code).

We have a free trial version so you could check it out. The command ...

InfoPath form services is required to open up InfoPath in the browser so you will need to use SharePoint. The form will need to be opened and rendered through SharePoint / IPFS to display in a browser.

Hi Steven, I am pretty sure there is not way to do this automatically. InfoPath saves "state" so that if a user changes the size of their taskpane the next time they open the form it keeps the setting that they just saved.
For example if you move the taskpane to the bottom of your form or to the top or left any other form you open ...

I've got the same problem and come to the conclusion that this function just isn't supported in Infopath 2003. If you create the form in Infopath 2007 then users with 2003 will not be able to access the form - i've tried that too.

Is there any way to set the custom task pane width. Every one of my forms has a "how to fill out this form" custom task pane. But anytime the user opens a form they have to manually widen the pane so they can read it. I have tried to set the width in the HTML of the resource pages I use but that doesn’t ...

Ernesto,
Thanks for the responce. That was the first thing I tried but that problem with that solution is that it's double work. You end up having to create double the amount of fields. One set of fields for the form view and one sent of fields for the email view. With some forms that just way ...

Hi Michael,
What version of SharePoint are you using?
If it's SharePoint 2007 did you make sure to admin deploy the form and approve it in SharePoint? That is required with a web form with code.
If you are using SharePoint 2010 you can admin deploy or you can use the sandbox (no admin deploy required).
Hope that helps

Well, it now writes without error... HOORAY!!!
It does not collect the info properly anymore, though, because it is not nested as it was... I don't have time to play with it now, but when I do I will let you know the outcome.
I had looked and looked at all the connections, but never saw that... THANKS again!!!

Thanks Hilary for the quick response. It is greatly appreciated. I tried what you gave me to no success. I thought it was quite strange so I converted the expression box to a textbox and ran the form again. This time I provided a value in the textbox and the moment the textbox lost focus the value disappeared. It did ...
