I'm pretty sure Full Trust is the only way to solve this.  InfoPath isn't allowed to access the local hardware, peripherals, or filesystem without running in full trust.  It doesn't have any way of knowing at compile time that you are going to try to access a peripheral, and that's why it gets upset when the code is ...

 What I did for my code is use a custom rules button with rules.  Action 1 would be to run query, Action 2 would then be to switch to that view you are in.   Works for me right now, hopefully this will help you out as well!!
