FormInstaller is used to install full trust templates. It is not used to removed qRules. I can manually remove qRules from your template - just email it to Support AT Qdabra DOT com and reference this thread.

If a rule isn't firing when a field changes, usually that means the condition is incorrect - or the value of the field isn't what you think it is. For example, the drop down may be storing an ID, and your rule condition is using the item's title. Does that make sense?

I added a few more conditions to your existing rules, and added some new rules - I think this does what you want now. Save it locally, right click to open in design mode and preview.

Any chance I could get a copy of the actual template?

Hey - do you mind setting up a quick sample form of what you are trying to do and attaching it under the Options tab in a reply? I'm having trouble understanding this. :)

In a form that is connected to a database, you can use a query to get back the record you wish to update. Your main data source has query fields - provide them on the form so that the user can narrow down their selection. Then query the data base, and the user can modify the data fields values and submit to update.
Here are some links that ...

Glad that helped. With repeating data, you sometimes just need to add some helper fields to the schema.

They weren't added for SharePoint lists until InfoPath 2010, so I think even for long time form designers they are sometimes missed. They are great for equivalence - This Thing is equal to That Value - but for anything more complex, you can use REST, like This Thing is greater than That Value. :)

Hi - This is tricky without writing code. Do you mean the user would actually enter a string like "Mexico, USA and Canada" into a combo box and you'd need to parse it to know that it was three countries? Or is the combo box in a repeating section and the user selects first one country, then the next?

In your list connection, set it to not query on load (this is a checkbox on the last dialog of the list data connection wizard). In your form, when the user selects a category, set the category query field in your list data connection (the data connection has query fields and data fields) to the selected category. Then add a rule to query the data ...
