I hope you are right that I don't need the SP. I did read several threads on this site as well as others and couldn't find an answer. Anyway, with your suggestion. Yes, the view coming in already has the data I need. How do you filter on a secondary datasource? There is a username on the form when it opens. Let's ... Posted to SQL Database Integration (Forum) by ek38 on 04-05-2006 Calling SP in Javascript which accesses a DB View A user is going to click on button and get a ''Sum'' of points earned from a DB table. SQL Server, i.e. select sum(pointEarned) as TotalPoints from <table x> where username = user name stored on the form. I created a ''view'' that stores the sum's for every username in the db. I added the view as a secondary datasource. all the fields ... I don't know how to use .Net instead of using the Java script code, but I should probably look into that. However, yesterday, we tried the ADService Webservice and it worked beautifully. We should have done that 3 days ago in stead of spending all the time trying to figure it out ourselves. I still think future ... Posted to General (Forum) by ek38 on 03-11-2006 Retrieving the Logged On UserName in a Form We have been trying to figure this out for a couple of days and don't have the best solution yet. There HAS to be an easy way to do this. It is such a basic concept. We want to capture the Logged On Username (Active Directory) automatically and place it on the form. We have successfully done this on the Form Open using the following code in ... Posted to General (Forum) by ek38 on 03-10-2006 Re: Datetime in SharePoint Form Library We (Colette) found an easier way than adding or modifying styles. Hopefully there are not any negative implications. The Infopath date/time field is still published to SharePoint. However, we create another column in SharePoint. We can assign the new SharePoint Column to the value of the Infopath date/time field. On the SharePoint column, ... To answer your questions: The message we receive is the following: ''The value of an ID key or timestamp has been changed. ID keys and timestamp columns are automatically generated by the data source and cannot be changed.'' I got this message whether I blanked ... Posted to SQL Database Integration (Forum) by ek38 on 02-28-2006 Datetime in SharePoint Form Library Our form is being published to SharePoint. We pick several columns to display in the SharePoint Form Library so users can sort, filter etc. One of the fields is a ''Date'' field. We specify in Infopath to only use the date and NOT the time, but when it publishes to SharePoint, the column value in SharePoint had both DATE and TIME. (Time is ... Posted to SharePoint Integration (Forum) by ek38 on 02-27-2006 Re: New Record Function - Copy Form We found a workaround, perhaps someone would comment on this approach: We discovered that when you click the ''New Record'' button all datafields were blanked out. I added fields to our data source that were not tied to the db, thinking I could copy the db related fields to these variables. However the New Record button wiped those out ... Posted to SQL Database Integration (Forum) by ek38 on 02-24-2006 New Record Function - Copy Form We have a fairly complex form with a datasource that is linked to two SQL Server tables. Typically a user will ''Fill Out This Form'' and hit submit. We have successfully configred the form to write out the data to the two tables. Now we want to give them the ability to copy an existing form thus creating a new one with all the same data. ... Posted to SQL Database Integration (Forum) by ek38 on 02-22-2006 Re: Retrieve Values on the form Matt, After going through the tutorial, we figured out why we were getting the error on line you suggested. All that was missing to make your suggestoin work was an ''@comments'' instead of just ''comments''. When we click on properties of comments and go to the details tab, it stated comments was an attribute and did not give a namespace. ...
