Hi, ok thnx for your quick response. I thought I would be hard. One last question, how do you determine if the people picker content is not valid (so on what basis do you determine to show the textbox? And do you have a regex for the AD account name? Sander

Are you able to open the form in design mode? Do so and check the Security settings under Form Options. Change the settings, save the xsn and try again. Something must have been added to the form (perhaps code?) to make the template require full trust, but that's just a guess.

Does the InvalidOperationException provide any other information?

I'm not sure if it will work, but try setting the link to file:// instead of http:// You can use a rule to set the value of the link field: value =  concat("file", substring-after(., "http"))

Hi Did you ever found a solution for this? I want infopath to be able to accept non-existing users. We use this form to setup new mail accounts for users, but also change them; so sometimes the use exists and sometimes not (yet)...   Sander
