To debug this, deconstruct it and break out your one set value action into multiple set value actions which set values based on pieces of your above expression. For example, the inner eval(...) statement gets set to a debug field. Drag these fields into a debug section into your form. Turn off the submit to data connection and preview ...

Dear "What My Boss Calls IT" (very funny username by the way):
Relink the forms. If you are using SharePoint 2003 (WSS 1.0) you should have a Relink option on the form library. If you are using a folder on a server, you will need to either a) manually modify the XML using notepad (to rename the href attribute at the top of the form to ...

I'm going to assume this means you've got this sorted... ;-}
It takes some time getting used to IP - here's your new best friend - an MSDN page...
One thing you will probably find different (read "annoying" is that you aren't going to be able access the controls on the form programmatically - just the data in the XML. ...

Hilary - You are a Messaih!
You are as gorgeous as your picture is. I have never found anyone so patient and yet at the same time cool to answer stupid questions from the likes of dolts like myself.

BTW Year 2 section ...

This is why I keep asking where your button is located.
At any rate, it sounds as if you are saying that the button is in Year 1? Is that the case? If so, just e.Source would get you the Year 1 node. Again, you should run debug, see what the value of e.Source is.

After some long research i have found out this is not doable out fo the box for SP 2010 and IP 2010. Looking at the SP page elements the lookup column has a dispaly name and value and its the value returned to the data source. I figured maybe there was a way to concatenate the entire string and using the string as a data source. It semi worked. ...
