I know, right? I figured the same, but wanted to check in just in case there might be something I missed. We're getting ready to upgrade from 2010 to 2019 and for the last ~2 or so weeks the server farm has just been acting all kinds of wonky. Thanks again as always. :)

That's the weirdest thing I've ever heard of. I guess I would start by creating a new view with all the columns you wish to have displayed and see if they display as desired. If so - easiest thing might be to set that as the default view.

Apologies. Yes, the actual columns are missing from the Standard View, where they were earlier today. I made no changes other than to submit a form to check out the info that would display in the columns. If I click on Datasheet View, all columns are there along with the corresponding data for each form entry. Clicking back on Standard View ...

I don't know of anything (and I confess I've only never used External Data beyond adding a column as a test one time) - but is there any way to copy the data into a "normal" column using workflow or something? I do see that I can add an External Data control in a browser form - I'm not really clear on your end goal, I'm ...

I don't quite understand the description of the issue - are the actual columns not being displayed? Or the columns are displayed and have no data? Is this on prem or Office 365 SharePoint?

Heyo, got something here I've never seen before. Created a form some time ago and all was well. Co-worker asked about something, so I went to the SP Library page and looked at the submissions. All looked good. All columns were there. Submitted a test form to see what would happen, and when it brought me back to the library page, more ...

InfoPath forms will not work with a SharePoint External Data column. Error says they are not supported because of their data type (Business Data).
Does anyone know if other SP/InfoPath Form software/add-ons support this type of external data?
Thanks,
John

I have a SP 2013 List with an External Data column. That field does not appear in the Field list in InfoPath 2013. The External Data column is pulling from a SQL DB.
What can I do to get this field to appear, if anything? I'd like to use this field so I don't have to update a Choice field manually.
Thanks,
John

Inside the form? Sure - from the Insert menu, click Insert Hyperlink. You can set the link text to the word "here" and you can use a data source field for the value. If you don't already have a field with the link in it, you can add one to your main data source.
