Under Tools / Default Values - are the fields selected inside the group? Since they are in template.xml, I think they would be, but worth a check....

Hi, I am using Infopath2007.
I have a complex form which has a number of repeating groups. One of the repeating groups has 2 fields in it. When I open a new form the repeating group is present, neither of fields is.
Other repeating groups with fields are present as expected.

That's interesting - so it is an inconsistent failure, with no errors in the SharePoint log files (just to be sure - you checked the actual folder of log files, not event viewer, correct?). What kind of time range between submits?

After much frustration, I found the solution. Of all places, this HP forum is the only one that had the correct solution, at least for me scenario anyway:

Make sure your ListItem Include setting is set to 'Txt and Child Elements Only'. Also, the GUID value is formatted correctly. Ex. {21EC2020-3AEA-1069-A2DD-08002B30309D}

Its usually a new xml i will have several forms successfully submit and then one will fail. If you resubmit the same form several times it will also eventually fail.

I have noticed this only happens during events other than clicked_events and context_changed_event. Is there any way to call this during a changed_event, or is there a way to call the context_changed event or clicked_event through code?

Fourth or fifth time from the same XML? or new forms each time?

Currently I am running version 3.1
I can reproduce it. It will usually fail around the fourth or fifth time I submit.
And no nothing in the logs.
