I would like to place a gradient background image behind a group of controls on an InfoPath Web-enabled form. Other than changing the view's background (which is tricky), is there any other way?

Thanks Anson ... but it's more than just a START and FINISH view - there are actually 8 views and over 100 fields.  Splitting these apart would significantly improve performance.

you can use rules to clear the value from the field bound to the drop down. So, add a rule to your field bound to the text box - and have it set the field bound to the drop down to blank.
