Hi Jo-Anne,
I've currently got qRules, but would my outcome still be achieved if its a webform?
-
I have added a rule to a checkbox that when checked it will add a specific number to another field. That works great but when I uncheck the box it doesn't remove the number from the field.
What am I missing in my rule?
Using InfoPath 2007
Thank you
Vicki

Hi and welcome to InfoPathDev forums!
You'll need to use substring to get the first letter in the FirstName and then combine the result to the value of your LastName using concat, something like: concat(substring(FirstName, 1, 1), LastName)

Hi Jacob,
I'm afraid you might have to do a search on that. Lots of stuff exists in this forum which can be similar to what you're doing, such as: http://www.infopathdev.com/forums/p/18162/63382.aspx#63382.

As was explained to me, this 'feature' has some very poor code behind it and causes very ...

I am very new to using InfoPath and using formulas. Is there any tutorials on formulas in InfoPath?
I want to create a formula that will take the first letter in the firstName field and merge it with the entire lastName field, all in lower case.
Can anyone help with this?

Unfortunately I don't believe there is an easy way to have placeholder text have line breaks in InfoPath.
Have you considered using a task help pane, a show/hide section to include help text, or a tooltip?
