I have a similar situation but I need to account for working hours, for example if the working hours are 7am to 5pm and job started on the 1-Jan-12 at 4pm and it was completed at 2-Jan-12 8am then the total should be 2hrs not 16hr. and as some add fun there are weekends and holidays.

You can either:
Put the field title in a calculated value control and hide it when the associated field is blank.
or
Put both the title and the field in a small section control that's bound to that field, and hide the section control when the field is blank.

I'd think you could use conditional formatting on the drop down - but all your detail fields have different names, right? So you'd end up having to add a few conditions.
You can indicate you want to check for any instance of the repeating field - I'm attaching a screenshot.

Dim field As ...

Hilary,
First, let me say how grateful I am for you and all the other kind folks on this forum who have helped me this past week.

Hey all,
I have a workflow set up to send a user an email after they have submitted a form to a form library. The email includes a link for them to edit their form, taking them to:
root/_layouts/FormServer.aspx?XmlLocation=/FormLibrary/Username.xml
When this page loads however, it is only the .XML form, without any of the branding seen ...

Ok, it sounds like there's a problem with the way qRules is set up in your form and this is not a GetInputParameter-specific issue. Could you clarify how you added qRules to your form? Did you just use the injector, or did you go about it some other way?

Hello Ken,
you can import the spread sheet to a sharepoint list and create the columns view, and from infopath form you can create a data connection to the sharepoint list.
Then create a dropdown field control in infopath form, go to properties and lookup values from data connection, it will auto populate those 100 values in drop down list.
