I would be finding out why that is disabled for everyone when it's a useful piece of MOSS on the people side (beyond our use of the web services in forms). Why would they disable such a useful part of SharePoint that can't hut anything? I assume you also have MySites turned off, which some organizations prefer, but ...

Yes, both of these methods come from the same web service - UserProfileService. They also accept the same parameter for retrieving data. If GetUserProfileByName works, then GetCommonMemberships works, since they work the same way.

Then you'll never be able to use that web service, nor will SharePoint be very useful in terms of people information. Personal Features is a very standard permission in the SSP and is given to all authenticated users by default, so it probably IS still there, atlhough someone may have removed it without understanding it (or without ...

Oh, is it a data access error? When you show details, is it 5566? Do you have an SSP configured, and in the Personalization Services Permissions, do you have your current user account added (individually or through a group) with the Personal Features permission? Is your web application of this site set to allow anonymous access ...

So you don't get a data access error (5566) when opening the form, but yet you get no data in the web service? I haven't seen that before. Typically, if the web service doesn't work, then it's due to an error of some sort that is detected on form load. When you created this data connection, did you set it to ...

Works like a charm and allows for a snapshot of my repeating data at a point in time. This is useful for my meeting minutes forms so that I can see ...

Bsuwidji, create a new thread asking that so that we can all help you more easily instead of doing it through blog comments. Just reference this blog post in your thread.

You connect to it the same way as the GetUserProfileByName method as explained in my blog. You choose this method instead, and it returns a much more friendly node structure. To test it and see the data, you just drag the repeating group to the canvas - the group that contains all the field nodes of that web service. Preview the ...

Two separate issues here:
1) Yes, it always uses the identity of the person logged into Windows, not the web page (SharePoint)
2) If you use a default value, then it sets it once and never resets. You have to use a rule in Form Options > Open and Save > Rules to do it on form load or with some other button/control rule.

Did you look at my methods?
Also, I want to be sure you're using userName() and not username().
