None of the fields you mention have a default value in the form - do you mean the column in SharePoint is calculated?

Not to my knowledge. From what I've read, you actually have to send an invite to the calendar. You might be able to do this with the lists web service and CAML, though, if you aren't using SharePoint Online. If you are using SharePoint Online, I'd just submit the data to the library or list for the form and use Power Automate for this.

I think selecting the option to not display the ribbon is what broke these.

Great job, glad you have it working!

So, the biggest issue I see is that multiple selection list boxes can be kind of flaky - the rules that should run when selected / deselected don't always seem to run correctly, and defaults don't always seem to calculate correctly (i.e., sometimes you have to deselect an item to get the default to calculate). What about having a button ...

So - I'm guessing this is a list form? What version of SharePoint? What browser are you using? May I see a copy of the form? You can attach it under the options tab in a reply....

You might have your SharePoint Admin check the ULS log and see if there is anything helpful there. Are all users using the same browser? Since some users can submit and some can't it kind of makes me wonder what's different on the machine setup where it succeeds vs. fails..... May also be worth trying in a private browser session, just to ...

You can hide Save under Form Options / Filler Features. But I don't know of a way to hide close.

How odd. Is this SharePoint On-Prem or Online? You mention a "user", then yourself - is this reproducible for other users? i.e., all users with Edit permissions can't submit via the form? Does the form throw an error of any kind? Or the data just doesn't get added?

Try this one - I changed it from defaults to rules. Maybe it will behave better. Right click the linked file and save locally. Right click the local file and select design to open in designer. Then you can publish and see how it goes - I've published to my site, so you'll have to walk through the publishing process again.
