I just want to see what the data looks like - I went ahead and drug the repeating group onto the form in this copy. Save locally, right click and select Design, then preview - maybe you could take a screenshot showing some of the returned data?

 I'm not sure I understand, this is to see if my data connection is right? Also i'm trying to drag it from the  "data" tab Under "Data connection" and it's not letting me drag anything. Sorry for the confusion.  

Anything in the ULS logs on the server? Based on this and your other question, that's where I'd start.

Is the form set to update existing XML in the versioning? I wonder if you can just handle for this in your workflow - maybe add a condition that if the field contains "\" you could use a substring function to get the username and then append the @ domain to it? I usually just design a special section that only is displayed while the form is being emailed (with the data entry piece hidden) that is very simple, doesn't have colored backgrounds, uses only calculated values to display data and so on.
