You would be amazed at some of the things you'd imagine to be obvious that turn out to be excruciating.
So when you say "... opened in an individuals outlook account" - is this an email form? What are you wanting to autofill? I'll warn you, I think the only user info you'll be able to get is just the user name...

Thank you!! I've been tearing my hair out today to figure that out. I appreciate the quick response!

I was able to work around this problem by creating a Web Service to submit my forms rather than the OOTB Submit to SharePoint functionality. The Web Service takes the entire xml of the form as a string input parameter. It also takes the name the form should have as an input parameter. The Web Service gets the form library URL ...

No - I've not done this before - I'm perplexed as to why you'd want to, honestly. You might want to provide more information on your intended design, in case someone else has some ideas.

Ok, Sounds good. I exported all files and placed them into the Layouts directory under the 14 hive. I will get at this again on Monday. Any other information you could provide me with getting started?
Thanks

I got it. Couldn't find it at first because AppData doesn't show up for me in windows explorer or the file search.
C:\Users\[User]\AppData\Local\Microsoft\InfoPath\FormCache2

I can't seem to find formcache2 folders on Windows Server 2008. I'm used to having to clear those out when I put a new InfoPath 2007 template on the server (a job uses this to convert forms to PDF). Know where it is?

You have commas before the fields (that I'm guessing you used the field picker for) but not after...
concat("some text", fieldname, " some more text")
Comma before and after the field. :-)

Yup, I did not understand what you were getting at - sorry about that!
Your template is a cab file - there are XSLT files in there you could use for this. You can export your source files for the template and then you'd have the XSLT.

Granted, I am a noob. Actually I am worse than a noob at this, BUT, there has got to be a way to autofill a couple of fields on a firm-wide infopath form when opened in an individuals outlook account. Yes? Or does that seem like trying to put a man on the moon?
