Yeah, I like more views with less scrolling in design mode too.... But I do end up using long single views with lots of show / hide myself. I put colored expression boxes (with the condition to always hide - the expression with 1 entered in the expression field works well) to help me know what's what in design mode....

New Record is a tough one because it is really limited - it only submits and creates a new record (as you've seen).... I don't know, if you set your submit to use rules and add your rules there (submit, set values, resubmit) - does the New Record function use the submit rules? Or just whatever the default submit connection? You are right ...

Yeah, I've had this happen too, and it is frustrating. But I don't know of a work around. If you were to just copy the view in the source files, that still wouldn't add the rules to the manifest. What is most frustrating is that this used to work... what version of Windows / InfoPath are you using?

Glad you got it sorted out & thanks for posting what you learned. :)

I was out last week - still need help with this?

You have the display view set correctly in the form options? I don't understand this: "I don't know how to distinguish between Edit Mode and Display Mode so that I can use the form load rule to switch view (they seem to be the same)? " - want to attach your template?
-
You have the rules set on both Q1 & Q2? Your rules cover all possible condition combinations? Do you have your "and" and "or" mixed up (I do that alllllllll the time)?

Hey, Brian - I was out last week, do you still need a hand with this?

Are you able to modify the columns when you publish? I'm trying to understand if these are both list forms, I'm guessing they are? You may need to try saving the form as source files and seeing if you can modify the column names the form submits to in manifest.xsf....

Can you provide more details or attach a copy of your form under Options in a reply?
