• Re: Needing Infopath form to refresh in order to view SharePoint calculated column results

Hi Jason, Thank you for the clarification. Yes, I would agree that re-creating the formulas on the fields would be tedious work. Since IDs are generated after, what I would I suggest at this point is generating your own unique ID on a hidden field. Something like concat(userName(), translate(now(), "T:-", "")). This way, you ...

  • Re: Rules

Hi, I've attached a sample form which shows an error message and disables a control button if the number of rows (with data) is not equal to the number of items specified in the box. To add a formatting rule, you must click the Manage Rules located along the Home Tab, click on the control button or section, click New ...

  • Re: qRules InfoPath 2010 and Sharepoint workspace

Hi mobcdi, I think what you are looking for is DBXL, since it has a feature called Standalone Dashboard which allows users to create documents offline, and upload them to DBXL and SharePoint when they return online. Here are the links to the Getting Started document and User Guide to help you get started. Hope this helps.

  • Re: looking to Insert two repeat sections from infopath in one SharePoint list

Hi perezcotaiza, Were you pertaining to a repeating table? If so, then yes this is possible without code, however this approach will have blank rows, require default data (not good for large tables), require ID fields, etc.. See attached form for a sample (download XSN > right click > open in design mode). If you wish to avoid ...

  • Re: How do I add new entry instead of update existing entry after Submit?

Hi Roach71, It seems like the form did not generate a new ID when you submitted your data. May I know how you are submitting to your SharePoint list? if you are using CAML, then there is a node at the CAML mapping name Cmd. You should set this node to New instead of Update. Also, you may need to clear or reset some of your form's field ...

  • Re: Rules

Hi zmbaker13, This sounds do-able. May I know if the box which contains number of devices is simply an integer field? If so then you can impose a disable rule to you control buttons or field and display an error message if box is not equal to count(RepeatingGroup). If this approach doesn't work for you, kindly attach a sample of your ...

  • Re: Needing Infopath form to refresh in order to view SharePoint calculated column results

Hi Jason, Without querying your Main Data Connection, a workaround you could use is setting the calculated boxes' values to the same formula logic used in SharePoint. This way, you wouldn't need to query SharePoint anymore. Otherwise, you'd have to query SharePoint without closing and opening the form. May I know what's hindering ...

  • Re: how to sort from a sharepoint column

Hi Carl, I'm not quite sure yet what your issue is and how your form is set up, but when querying a SharePoint list, you can set the filter value by using a drop-down field for setting the queryFields section at the SharePoint data connection. We actually have a webinar which discusses Cascading Drop-downs in InfoPath. ...

  • Re: Function question- with Data Connection to Sharepoint List

Hi Rauserka, For cases like this, I normally use a substring function in order to get a portion of a text string. Could you try using the formula below? substring(IDNumber, string-length(IDNumber) - 3, 4) IDNumber is for the IDNumber field you wish to truncate. The next value string-length(IDNumber) - 3 returns the number of characters the ...

  • Re: Calculate costs in a Repeating table

Hi Shane, Under normal conditions, the Linecost field should not be retaining the value of the previous row. May I know if this Linecost field is located outside of the repeating table? If so then I suggest having this field placed inside the repeating table along with the CostRAM, CostDisk, CostCPU, and CostOS. This way, the Linecost field will ...
