I wonder if you move that filter - something like this:
xdXDocument:GetDOM("CNSS")/dfs:myFields/dfs:dataFields/d:SharePointListItem_RW[msxsl:string-compare(current(),ListSiteNames, "", "i") = 0]

Multi-selects are weird. I've definitely seen things like this before, where rules to set a value don't work as anticipated. I'm not at all sure why this works on create and not edit ... I would probably drag the field bound to the multi-select onto the form as a bulleted list & see what data source looks like in create vs edit. I ...

Oh yuck. I guess here are the things I would try next:Have the user remove the form from his InfoPath cache (File > New, then right click the form & remove it if it is present)Repair OfficeHave a different user sign into the machine to see if it works under a different profileMy guess is this is something on the machine, but ...

I'd like to see the form template as well as sample XML that show forms that have had the issue. Can you send those to Support AT Qdabra DOT com & reference this thread?
-
I understand that you are using a date picker control - I'm wondering about the data type of the field. Is it a date? DateTime? String?
-
Yeah, before I replied, I tried that - both with a field and with a button - had the same outcome with both....
Can the form be rearranged so that the fields required for enabling the button are higher in the form, and some that the formatting don't rely on are after them?
-
Unfortunately, probably not - because the button doesn't show until the data is entered into field 4, which means tabbing out of field 4. So - you tab out of field 4, which triggers the formatting, which displays the data .... by that point you are already back at field 1.
-
Let me know if you have any questions on the implementation, ok?

Save the linked file locally (right click the link & save). Right-click the locally saved file and select Design to open in design mode. I typed in a bunch of info (with screenshots) at the bottom of the template for working with the XML resource file. :)

Got it - Okay, I'll pop this back up for you later today. I'm going to change your data source for these dropdowns to use XML & I'll include some info on how to update that in the future. I think that's a better design pattern. :)
