Hi ErickWidya,
I'm sorry to be dense, but what exactly is the problem? Are you saying that users can't click on insert or that the insert widget doesn't appear?
Thanks for your clarification.

Hi again OC,
Sounds like a bug in your form. There is this thing called "event percolation". If you have tied your rule to a field and that rule updates the same field, it could cause an infinite loop of rule firing. Without looking at your form, that's my guess as to what's happening. One rule is causing another rule ...

What's the error you are seeing?
Thanks for the link. Too bad that calling MOSS webservice requires full trust since that will complicate deployment of browser based forms slightly.

Hi Graeme,
Your intuition is correct. It's better to do loose coupling and submit a string. See my recent post in response to Donna for a brief discussion of best practices. Main reason is that you can have one Web service that can be used for multiple InfoPath forms and submission process doesn't break when the form or the DB ...

Hmm, sounds like you need someone to take a closer look at it. Let us know if you'd like some hands on assistance. Probably something wrong with your form, but we would have to look at it in the environment in which you published it.

Hi Imran and welcome ot our forum,
Simple Codeless Solution: let ShP or SQL do the job for you. Kind of a hack, but it works....
Over the years, this has been a very common request. You should search our forum for "Auto ID SharePoint". To reuse the SharePoint ID without writing code, you'll have to do two submits. First, ...

Hi again,
Sorry for more questions...
Are you storing the SQL DB in a main data source or a secondary data source? I'm guessing secondary based on your last sentence. If that is so, the size of the XML won't reflect the size of the data downloaded since that is stored in a secondary data connection. It's still possible that you are ...

Tools->Default values gets you more than one default row but not something that can be dynamically selected.
For that, you can create a rule and use our free qRules v1.5 tool along with an eval(eval....) expression to iteratively inject a number of rows from an XML secondary data source (2DS). Search for eval and find a bunch of posts on ...

Hi Tammy,
[Begin soapbox]
The best practice is to start from XML and use a middle-tier (aka Web Service) to map to a database. Then you don't have to try to deal with the special schema bindings that InfoPath uses to map to SQL. My guess is that there's some bug in InfoPath which complains but removes the namespace when you try to change ...
